MY GURUS
I went to Shree Prabhudas Makwana, a very good in
mandolin, flute, guitar & harmonium playing. He taught me sargam and basic
knowledge for harmonium. He liked me passion for music. He advised me to
increase learning and to go deeper in music, I must learn piano and chordration
[western classical music]. He taught me 1-10 numbers in music. And he is my
first Guru in music.
The second most important person, who has built my fingering and sense in music
is Mr. Ashish Thakker. His father is also a good friend of my father in their
youth in Ahmedabad.
Mr. Ashish Thakker is one of the best piano player in Gujarat, he has completed
3rd level exam in Music. Also passed Classical
exam in Pune. He leart piano from Late Mr. Lobo sir. And he learns classical
music from Shree Bindu Madhav Tendulkar. I was highly impressed by Ashish
Thakker's fingering when he plays piano/keyboard.
MY PERFORMANCE JOURNEY
At the age of 16 years I started my professional journey in music. I started
with performance in local shows, marriage functions, and in different occasions
in Surendranagar. With time I am became well-known in my town and in other local
orchestra.
I purchased a small organ CASIO – PT
200, this was my first organ and my father’s first investment on my music. I
also purchased a congo, drums, roto-drum and all other musical instruments. I
formed a young band in my town named Surbhi Musical Group.
Over some time my band [orchestra] become
very famous in my district.
In 1993 I went to learn more in music….I
met Mr. Ashish Thakker and I requested him to teach me. He instantly asked me to
come for 15-20 days in vacation...I will teach you western music.
I caught the opportunity started to learn piano and attended first lecture on
29th March, 1993 at Ahmedabad. I used my friend’s bicycle to reach my music
class. I rode on that for about 20-25 kilometers to attend my music class
everyday that time. My last lecture was on 4th May, 1993.
In 1996 my family shifted in Ahmedabad. That time my study was going on and I
was ready to join college. I got an admission in Sahajanand College of commerce.
I completed my college and started Web Legend course for IT field. After that I
joined a reputed IT company where I continue to work till date as an HR manager
Similarly I have progressed in music field.
I am happy with both my choice field.
My father helped me purchase my favourite
synthesizer ROLAND – JUNO 60 on 25th July, 1993. It belonged to Ashish Thakker.
I requested him several times that I wanted to purchase his keyboard, and
finally he give me my favourite Synthesizer at that time.
This was first Fully Programmable Synthesizer in my town and district. I was
very happy to be a owner of this beautiful marvelous synthesizer.
I then purchase another synthesizer of KORG on 30th August, 1998
After I shifted to Ahmedabad, I joined Symphony, a very well known band. With
Symphony orchestra I continue to perform in countless shows till today. We are
proud that we have performed in Gujarat's Biggest Venue (SOI Dandiya Dhamaal)
for 8 years and still continue to do so. Our shows are telecast live in 45+
countries with media support from Alpha TV now as a Zee Gujarati.
We perform for some valuable clients like Indo-American Society, YMCA, Silver
‘Oak, Goyal Water World, Water City Kheda, Shanku Water Park Mahesana, Greenwood
Lake Resort and many more…. |
